The Lemon Tree Pottery Café opened earlier this year in Bourne End and has quickly become a popular destination for families, couples, friends and anyone looking for a relaxing and creative experience.
We offer pottery painting sessions seven days a week, with three sessions daily:
• 9:30am – 11:00am• 12:00pm – 1:30pm• 2:30pm – 4:00pm
We also run a dedicated Thursday evening Paint & Sip session from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, where guests can enjoy cocktails, prosecco, beer, coffee and cake while painting pottery in a relaxed atmosphere.
Visitors simply choose a piece of pottery from our extensive range, paint it however they wish, and then leave it with us to professionally glaze and kiln-fire. Their finished piece is usually ready for collection within 10 days.
What has surprised us most since opening is the variety of people coming through the door. While many people initially assume pottery painting is mainly for children, a large proportion of our visitors are adults looking for something different to do. We've welcomed couples on date nights, groups of friends enjoying a catch-up, grandparents creating keepsakes with grandchildren, work colleagues, and even solo visitors looking for a mindful and relaxing activity.
With the summer holidays approaching, pottery painting is proving particularly popular as a family activity in Buckinghamshire. Unlike many attractions, families leave with a personalised keepsake they have created together. We also offer baby handprint keepsakes, pet paw prints, birthday celebrations, team-building sessions and gift vouchers.
As people increasingly search for screen-free experiences and memorable activities, pottery painting has become one of the fastest-growing creative activities for adults and children alike. Many visitors tell us they arrive convinced they're "not creative" and leave already planning what they'll paint on their next visit.
