PDRN is undeniably the hot topic that seemed to appear out of thin air and has got us all captivated and marginally obsessed. But, what actually is it? And is it worth all the hype?
PDRN, which is abbreviated for a rather spectacular sounding word which would leave most of us totally tongue tied, are fragments of DNA which stimulate the recovery and rejuvenation process within the skin. Sounds amazing right? And something the majority of us are always looking for 🫶It's a go-to for many skin concerns as the molecules work from within the skin to promote tissue repair, collagen production and skin regeneration.
Typically, previously PDRN only came in injectable form and was only used in clinics after or during treatments such as microneedling, laser, peels or injectables. However, drum roll please, the day and age we live in has meant serums to use at home are becoming more and more popular.

Most PDRN serums contain hydrating hyaluronic acid and soothing niacinamide which makes skincare so much easier as its essentially a one-stop shop...and who doesn't love a simple way of life. If the thought of rubbing salmon sperm on your face leaves you feeling a touch freaked out, there is another option. Up until recently the most common form of PDRN has been derived from salmon sperm DNA. But now, with a big cheer from many a vegan comes a vegan PDRN. Which not only is more ethically appealing but also has a smaller molecular structure which allows deeper penetration and absorption.
Yours truly here was incredibly grateful to have received a VIP invite to the Medik8 launch of their Vegan Prismatic PDRN. The clinical trials speak for themselves and with the panel of all being female leaders of industry offering insights into not only clinical trials but also personal experience it would be rude not to indulge in this super serum.
Needless to say I have absolutely started my PDRN journey and can safely say my skin is feeling plump, hydrated and glowing.
Until next time..
