Danesfield Gardens is a hidden gem for all gardeners

If you’ve driven the winding stretch of Henley Road between Marlow and Medmenham, you’ve likely passed the unassuming entrance to Danesfield Gardens. For those in the know, this family-run nursery, ( the wonderful Isobel is very much in charge) is the ultimate destination for getting your garden "summer-ready" without the fuss of the larger garden centres. It's my favourite place to spend time looking at plants and deciding what to buy for each season to enjoy spending time in my garden.


To compare to what you are buying elsewhere we have their  2026 Summer Price List, and whether you’re looking to fill your hanging baskets or start a "grow-your-own" vegetable patch, there is plenty here to get started with, all grown with loving care.


The Summer Bedding Stars

Danesfield is famous for its vibrant bedding plants. This year, they are offering a variety of trays for just £5 per tray of 6, including:

  • The Classics: Petunias, Marigolds, and Begonias.

  • The Favourites: Cosmos, Nicotiana, Lobelia, and Impatiens.

For those looking for specific statement pieces, you can find Antirrhinum (£2.50 per strip), Geraniums (£3.00 each), and the ever-popular Salvia varieties like Midnight Candle and Roman Red for £5.00.


Herbaceous & Scented Delights

If you want to add height and texture to your borders, their herbaceous selection starts from just £2.50. Look out for:

  • Scents: Heliotrope (£4.50) and Sweet Peas (£4.00 per pot of 10).

  • Texture: Gaura, Black Eyed Susan, and Verbena Bonariensis.


Grow your own veg

There’s nothing quite like the taste of Marlow-grown veg. Danesfield has a robust selection for the 2026 season:

  • Tomatoes, Peppers, & Aubergines: All £2.00 each.

  • The "Hairy Pot Plant Company" Herbs: Premium herbs for £8.00.

  • Kitchen Staples: Runner Beans and Sweetcorn pots (£4.00) and Lettuce strips (£2.00).


Danesfield Gardens is the perfect stop-off for a quiet weekend morning. It’s local, friendly, and is an independent local business.
