Spring Summer 2026 at Twenty Three Living

Updated: Apr 29

With the arrival of the new Devil Wears Prada film next week, fashion inevitably finds itself back in the spotlight as we all excitedly anticipate its release. It’s a moment that prompted me as a boutique buyer to reflect on what I see as the big trends for Spring Summer 2026 and the items I have bought into on my buying trips over the last 6 months.  At Twenty Three Living, we’ve always believed that style is less about following the narrative but in finding the key pieces that sing to us, offering something more unique than you’ll find in your high street multis. While the film may celebrate the drama of fashion, we find inspiration in the everyday—how pieces live, move, and settle into real wardrobes.

Over the past nine months, our buying trips have been guided by this same philosophy. Rather than chasing trends, we’ve been drawn to pieces that feel considered—those with longevity, subtle character, and an ease that allows them to be worn in multiple ways. There’s been a noticeable shift toward texture and detail, but always balanced with wearability.

This season, it’s the finer details that are defining the story. Embroidered details and Lace has re-emerged, not in an overtly romantic way, but as a gentle contrast—adding softness to otherwise simple silhouettes. Lace was everywhere at Copenhagen Fashion week and lets face it the Danish girls know how to do ‘style’. Last year we saw the lace story emerge during festival season with lace headscarves teamed with sunglasses for an effortless boho vibe. The lace trend is for all ages with lace details appearing on shirts and knitwear, and we are loving the asymmetrical lace hemline sitting below light knitwear, over oversized jeans, and teamed with trainers.

Perhaps as a nod to the romanticism and fashion interest we saw this year following the releases of screen classics Frankenstein and Wuthering Heights, regency inspired collared blouses with ruffle details at cuff and neckline, definitely saw a resurgence, bringing a sense of structure with a touch of femininity. Sitting just as comfortably under knitwear as they do on their own, the ruffle blouse is predicted to continue its popularity this season for elevating denim with its classic detail.

Vintage inspired accessories are also making a comeback, especially brooches, which now serve as understated focal points when styled thoughtfully.  London Fashion week was awash with vintage inspired jewellery with statement brooches clustered together on slouchy totes or placed as a statement piece on the lapel of a plain blazer. Bandanas and neck scarves continue to embellish, providing an effortless way to add interest without overcomplicating an outfit.

Silhouettes remain grounded in ease. Straight-leg jeans continue to be a reliable foundation—timeless, flattering, and endlessly versatile. Alongside them, barrel-leg trousers offer something a little more directional, introducing shape without sacrificing comfort. Boxy tees balance these proportions perfectly, creating a look that feels relaxed but still considered. It’s this interplay between structure and softness that feels most relevant now as we are all seeking comfortable relaxed dressing.

Colour has also taken on a thoughtful role this season. Softer tones such as pastel lemon and sky blue bring a sense of lightness, while deeper shades of chocolate and burgundy anchor the palette, adding richness and depth. These combinations feel fresh yet grounded—easy to wear, but with just enough contrast to keep things interesting. Chartreuse green is also a trending colour this season and next and we particularly love it on a bias cut skirt or a 90s Kate Moss inspired shift dress.

Stripes, meanwhile, remain a consistent thread, especially in tops and blouses. They continue to evolve, offering a familiar pattern that feels both timeless and current, and we have been wearing ours layered with a mohair tank in sorbet shades, adding a chunky chain or a unique block-printed bandana.

As the conversation around fashion builds once again ahead of the premier, it’s worth remembering that true style isn’t about recreating exactly what we see on screen, but about finding pieces that resonate, and that will hopefully remain in our wardrobes for seasons to come. At Twenty Three our aim is that each piece is chosen not for a single moment, but for how it will continue to work season after season -our approach remains the same—thoughtful, curated, and quietly distinctive.
